This work outlines the results of the comparative analysis that was made between the work of Martinez: Biblical hermeneutics and more recent works by authors who have written about hermeneutics and biblical interpretation. The research was conducted in order to find out what have been some relevant changes in the study of hermeneutics. This research was clearly of a documentary nature and three changes that have a high degree of relevance in the study of hermeneutics during the last 30 years were highlighted, taking into account the contribution of some experts who have contributed to this field. It is concluded from the comparative analysis that: 1) There have been some extensions, adjustments and replacements in the concept that contain some important terms in the field of hermeneutics, which is a product of changes in the worldview and approaches to the study of the Sacred text. 2) Linguistics is one of the sciences that has contributed the most to the study of biblical interpretation, providing significant changes with respect to the form of linguistic study proposed by Martínez. The methodology that Martínez promotes focuses primarily on the author, while linguistic approaches (especially structuralism) are more concentrated in the text. 3) The changes that emerged from the transition from the modern era to postmodern thought are evident, specifically the changes in the dynamics between author-text-reader: the attention passes to the reader as a giver of meaning of what he reads. In conclusion, the contribution to be made with this research work is to provide the reader with certain aspects of the three approaches listed above as important foundations from which a more comprehensive interpretation of any biblical text can be made.
