Moreover, that Latin American Christianity has been secularized in such a way that it no longer represents an evident counterculture, and rather tends to present a well-to-do gospel, which seeks to be attractive to the multitudes. Our intention is to make a brief analysis of the historical development of that dangerous religious and cultural assimilation that constitutes the syncretism and that threatens the evangelical mission today. Item Los plañideros del hoy: Lamentaciones 5 a la luz del desplazamiento forzado en Colombia(Medellín : FUSBC, 2013) Ruíz Cataño, David Santiago, [autor]; David Santiago Ruíz CatañoDavid Santiago Ruiz Cataño is a 23-year-old student from Medellín, who is one of the leaders of the "Manantial de Paz" church, of the Hermanos Menonitas de Colombia denomination. Here he shares with us an exercise in the Writings class, in which he presents us with the challenge of reading a text from the book of Lamentations, against the background of the phenomenon of displacement in Colombia today, extending also an invitation to take on as our pain of the thousands who today suffer deeply for the innumerable and deep losses that the violent derailment brings.Item Estado actual de la predicación bíblica expositiva en la ciudad de Medellín(Medellín : FUSBC, 2013) Caballero Doria, Jovanni; Calvo Ramírez, Augusto; Chávez Bravo, John Luis; Díaz Rivas, Marcos Fidel; Jiménez Quintana, Óscar Enrique; Moscote Miranda, Luz Mery; Rincón Solano, Martha Johanna; Rubiano Peláez, Leyda Esperanza; Espitia Zuñiga, Isaura, [autor]; Isaura Espitia ZuñigaThis document addresses the theme of the biblical exposition, which is of fundamental interest to the Evangelical Christian Church of Colombia. While biblical preaching is and must be one of the structural elements that sustain the historical-theological presupposition held by the church, according to which God has spoken and communicated in his Word. For some years, this theme has occupied the Biblical Speakers Training School (EFEB) and the Biblical Seminary Foundation of Colombia (FUSBC), from which the initiative to create the Exhibitor's Seedbed, formed by the students who developed this investigation.Item Dignidad, derechos humanos y joven infractor(Medellín : FUSBC, 2013) Mosquera Brand, Fernando, ThD, PhD, [autor]; Fernando Mosquera Brand, ThD, PhDPart of the duties that force the present generation of adults with respect to youth and children is to offer a training system with such efficiency that it does not endanger their human, social, political, emotional, psychological, moral and spiritual stability; in addition, that it serves as a preventive element to juvenile and juvenile delinquency. Criminal tendencies endanger peaceful coexistence and with it the survival of children and youth. On this, Planetary Humanism has already warned us: "we should take all precautions to do nothing that could endanger the very survival of future generations." The present generation of adults has the responsibility of guaranteeing to emerging generations an adequate ecosystem that enables the healthy and harmonious life of future generations, likewise, this ecosystem must have all the conditions and must comply with all habitability protocols. . As recommended by Planetary Humanism: "As far as possible, each generation has the obligation to deliver to the next a planetary environment that is better than the one it has inherited. We should avoid excessive pollution and use only what we need rationally and economically in order to avoid wastage of non-renewable resources on Earth. " The previous reflections serve as a conceptual background to the issues that I will address here, since when we speak of dignity and human rights in the context of juvenile delinquency, we are implicitly referring to the responsibilities that the adult generations have with the emerging ones. This article deals with the following topic: 1. Approach to the Concept of Dignity 2. Human Rights: Their Virtues and Problematicity 3. Criticism of Human Rights 4. General Observations and RecommendationsItem La pregunta de María (Lucas 1:34)(Medellín : FUSBC, 2015) Simons, Robert, PhD, [autor]; Robert Simons, Ph.D.The question of Mary in Luke 1:34 does not imply a vow of virginity, nor is it meaningless, nor was it invented by Luke to improve the logic of the story. Rather, Luke preserved the question to maintain the parallelism between the announcements of the births of John and Jesus, which has suggested in its various details that Jesus is greater than John. The question also introduces a contrast between the doubt of Zacarías and the faith of María, the first example in Lucas of the theme of the inversion of expectations. Luke makes frequent use of this theme as an aid to persuade readers that Jesus is the Messiah and Savior.Item El profeta Oseas denuncia la corrupción en las fuerzas armadas(Medellín : FUSBC, 2015) Acosta Benítez, Milton, PhD, [autor]; Milton Acosta Benítez, PhD.In this article we will deal with a very old case: corruption in the Armed Forces of Israel, denounced by the prophet Hosea in the book that bears his name. The military theme in the Old Testament is recurrent and also complex. Therefore, before considering the word of the prophet, we will briefly refer to some thick strokes about the armies in the Old Testament. Because of the complexity of the subject, the purpose of such a short article must necessarily be modest. First of all we will notice some general features of the military theme in the Old Testament. Then we will enter the prophecy of Hosea against Jehu, noting the history, the form of the denunciation and the appearance of the military theme in prayer. Finally we propose a conclusion with some ideas for personal and community reflection. The purpose of this article will be to demonstrate two things: that the corruption of the armed forces is both serious and unacceptable, and that from the biblical perspective it is necessary to think about the causes of the problems rather than the armed solutions.Item La herejía en Colosenses 2:16-23 y su trascendencia en la iglesia evangélica(Medellín : FUSBC, 2015) Peluffo, Paola Renata [autor]; Paola Renata Peluffo; Simons, RobertoThroughout history, heresies have arisen as a result of a misinterpretation of the Bible. The Word of God is true and is contained in the Sacred Scriptures, which are inspired by God himself. A heresy consists of a false teaching, which distorts the true true biblical revelation and brings with it a harmful influence for the believer, making him run the risk of distancing himself from God. The first part of the present essay explores the characteristics of the heresy to which Colossians 2 refers. Second, it presents a false teaching that circulates in some evangelical churches in our times, which has a certain concordance and similarity, in some aspects, with the characteristics of the heresy presented by Paul in Colossians. Finally, the essay culminates with an exhortation to the church, about not being deceived by false modern teaching.Item ¿Cómo ha hecho Dios a Jesús, Señor y Mesías? Hechos 2:36 en la cristología lucana(Medellín : FUSBC, 2015) Johnson, Kevin, Mg, [autor]; Kevin Johnson, MgAt the climax of his speech on the day of Pentecost, immediately before calling his listeners to repent and be baptized for the forgiveness of their sins, Peter comes to the theological conclusion of his argument in Acts 2:36: "Therefore, know all Israel well that this Jesus, whom you crucified, God has made you Lord and Messiah "(NIV). This statement, especially the affirmation that God has made to Jesus Lord and Messiah, has caused difficulty for many biblical interpreters and perplexity for the common reader. Although the Greek is clear, the difficulty is that it sounds so unacceptable theologically, especially for those who, like us today, read the Bible through the lens of dogmatic decisions about the Trinity and the person of Christ of the first four councils EcumenicalItem La importancia de pensar nuestra historia(Medellín : FUSBC, 2015) Ramírez Suárez, Luis Eduardo, Mg, [autor]; Luis Eduardo Ramírez SuárezThis article proposes a methodology for writing the history of relatively young theological institutions. It presents the importance of writing history, the reasons why it should be written, and the dangers that writers should be aware of. The article privileges the history oriented by a problem and proposes to write the history of recent institutions the methodology of the Microhistory with its three procedures: the indexical paradigm, the reduction of the scale of observation and the dense description. Finally, he proposes some guidelines for writing institutional histories following the contributions of the History of the present, Microhistory and work with living sources.Item Jonás 3: La respuesta adecuada de un victimario a la Palabra Dios(Medellín : FUSBC, 2016) Gutiérrez, Sandro, Mg, [autor]; Sandro Gutiérrez, Mg.The current panorama of our nation, of agreements with the FARC and the beginning of dialogues with the ELN and the reality of other violent and armed groups both in the rural sector and in the urban centers, confronts the church with the responsibility it has in the restoration of victims of conflict and violence in Colombia. But at the same time it is necessary to recognize that there is also work to be done in terms of the restoration of the perpetrator. In these processes, the role of the Word of God is fundamental in the transformation that is expected of these people. Based on the foregoing, the present document makes a reflection based on Jonah 3, which tells the appropriate response to the Word of God of one of the most evil victimizers mentioned in the Scripture: "Nineveh". Throughout this article, three of the aspects that show the adequate reaction of Nineveh are developed: the promptness of the response to the Word of God, humility and repentance before the Word, and the knowledge of God reflected in his actions.Item Una teología de la hospitalidad(Medellín : FUSBC, 2016) Gómez Pinto, Ricardo, Ph.D, [autor]; Ricardo Gómez Pinto, Ph.DFaced with the reality of forced displacement that we have, not only in Colombia but the world, the church is called to present a comprehensive and biblical response to this reality. A theology of hospitality is a short reflection on how the church can be a missionary agent that receives the needy and becomes an instrument of love for those who need it most. In doing so, the church is not only embodying the work of the gospel, but is pointing to the very heart of it.Item Los gobiernos y su finalidad.(Medellín : FUSBC, 2016, 2016) Mosquera Brand, Fernando Abilio, ThM, PhDItem Jugando a las escondidas.(Medellín, Colombia : Publicaciones SBC, ©2016, 2016) Salinas, J. Daniel. PhD, [autor]Item Exploración de la estructura literaria de la epístola de Santiago (Parte 1)(Medellín : FUSBC, 2016) Mejía Castillo, Guillermo, Mg, [autor]The reader of this article finds here an exploration of the possible existence of a literary structure in the epistle of James. The analysis that is made in this paper tries to facilitate to the reader a certain familiarization with the complex configuration of the text of this letter, to explain the reason for which its author wrote that epistle, and to give a better exegetical understanding to him of its text. The thematic multiplicity and the contradictory emphasis that the commentators identify in Santiago, confirm the need to improve the exegetical understanding of this letter from an approach that respects the complexity of its literary configuration. In this exploration there are sufficient reasons and evidences to read the epistle of Santiago from a literary structure of parallels ─more consonant with the Jewish mentality of the first century─, instead of a linear progression of thought ─ more in keeping with our westernized form to write and read─. This first part of the exploration, however, only identifies contributions and questions some of the conclusions of Martín Dibelius, Fred O. Francis and Peter H. Davids; three influential and still relevant scholars of the literary structure of the Charter of Santiago. The contributions of Dibelius, Francis and Davids allow us to identify indications favorable to the presence of literary structure in the New Testament epistle of Santiago.
